Hi, I’m Mike. I’m a Principal at an early stage VC. When I am not working, I am on a train writing.
I started this blog accidentally: I would draft something that looked like a newsletter for myself to read over breakfast. I used some GPT agentry to track ecosystem news. Sometimes on my commute I wrote about events I attended and trends I was curious about.
Over the past year, it’s grown to 3,000+ regular readers, and the signal is clear: student founders are starting companies at a faster rate than ever. I’m bullish on what that means for the UK - we need more voices and on-the-ground coverage.
I’m looking for thoughtful contributors - particularly students and early-career operators interested in tech and VC - who want to write about startup events, interview founders, and spotlight what’s happening in their local communities.
You’ll get a Notion account and have freedom of movement to then write about local venture events, interview founders, or spotlight trends in venture.
The goal is twofold: to support founders by telling their stories well, and to give writers a credible platform to demonstrate access, judgment, and critical thinking about early-stage companies.
I spend a couple of hours on this now during my weekend, so looking for collaborators.
If that sounds interesting and you’d like to see your face here alongside articles you write, get in touch.
